Cromer Crematorium supports four local charities
Four charities have each received a donation from Cromer Crematorium as part of its ongoing commitment to support organisations which make a positive difference to the local community.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and Nelson’s Journey have received £1,500 whilst Little Lifts and Hillside Animal Sanctuary have been given a donation cheque for £500.
The money has come from the crematorium’s metal recycling scheme.
With the consent of families, metals recovered during cremation are recycled, and any money raised is used to support selected charities, local activities and environmental initiatives which benefit the communities that the crematorium serves.
Cromer Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 40 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.

EACH is a charity that delivers all-encompassing, lifelong care that includes a comprehensive range of services to support both bereaved and non-bereaved families, ensuring the best possible quality of life, and making every moment count for children and families.
Nelson’s Journey supports children and young people in Norfolk who have experienced the death of a significant person.
Since 1997, the charity has helped thousands of bereaved children and young people in the county through a wide range of support and activities.
The Little Lifts charity provides handpicked gifts to support people with breast cancer and has strong partnerships with hospitals throughout the East of England, including Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, James Paget University Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Dedicated oncology, radiotherapy and breast care teams give Little Lifts Boxes directly to patients during treatment planning and review meetings. Each box contains items such as pain-easing heat packs, luxury body lotion, organic chocolate and treats to aid relaxation, all of which were carefully chosen by people who have experienced breast cancer treatment themselves.
Hillside Animal Sanctuary was founded in 1995 and is now home to more than 4,000 animals including horses, ponies, donkeys, sheep, pigs, rabbits, ducks, goats and more.
The charity helps, cares and campaigns for animals in need and works to raise awareness to the suffering of animals through the intensive factory farming industry.
